Back pain is very common in the workplace. Did you know that according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), back injuries account for one of every five injuries and illnesses in the workplace
As a result, it is important for you to maintain the health of your back, and ergonomics can help.
But what is an ergnomics specialist and what does he or she do?
During the ergonomics assessment, I help set up your work space in a way to help reduce or prevent back pain. I do this by:
- assessing keyboard set up
- optimally positioning the monitor
- adjusting or replacing the chair
- providing tips on lifting and moving
An ergonomic workplace will then provide relief from:
- poor posture
- prolonged activity
- repetitive activities
- improper lifting techniques
- workplace accidents
